Callisto - Private Yacht Intimacy

Callisto is the last word in sophistication. The guest list is limited to 34—a group large enough to bring together an interesting mix, but small enough to foster a true spirit of community. Beautifully appointed and filled with amenities one would expect to find in a fine country house, the 17 cabins feature large windows (portholes on the Daphne Deck) that look out on the sea.

Cabins also feature:

• Satellite TV, DVD/CD player
• Telephone
• Mini-refrigerator
• Marble-appointed bathroom with fine toiletries
• Plush terry robes and slippers
• Fresh flowers and fruit basket
• 24-hour room service

Decorated with rich fabrics, handsome wood, polished brass, rare antiquities and fine works of art, the yacht’s public spaces are warm and inviting. These include:

• Library with Internet access
• Lounge with audiovisual facilities
• Dining room
• Two sun decks
• Jacuzzi
• Swimming platform

Itinerary

Thursday, September 10:  Embark - Antalya, Turkey

Arrive in Antalya and transfer to Callisto.  Overnight aboard ship docked in Antalya.

Friday, September 11:  Antalya

Turkey’s southern Turquoise Coast has some of the finest golf courses in the Eastern Mediterranean. During our two-day stay, enjoy playing the top two courses in the country.
GOLF: In Cornelia Golf Resort, Nick Faldo has designed one of the best new courses in Europe, from the sumptuous clubhouse to the immaculate course conditions.
TOUR: Explore Antalya, built on a cliff overlooking the azure Mediterranean. See the Old Town, the ancient ruins of Hadrian’s Gate, and visit Antalya Museum. Overnight docked in Antalya.

Saturday, September 12:  Antalya

GOLF: Play the National Golf Club, created by David Feherty and routed through a woodland of eucalyptus and pine trees set against the Taurus Mountains.
TOUR: Visit Perge, with its great stadium and colonnaded marble streets, and Aspendos, with its grand 20,000-seat theater, commissioned in the 2nd century a.d. Enjoy a swim at one of Antalya’s luxury resorts before sailing for Rhodes.

Sunday, September 13:  Rhodes, Greece

TOUR: During the Hellenistic period, Rhodes was a major center of commerce, learning, and the arts. Ascend Monte Smith, site of the ancient acropolis, and see the restored 2nd-century b.c. stadium, theater, and temple ruins. In lovely Lindos, after lunch at Mavrikos, one of Greece’s top restaurants, you may take a donkey ride up to the acropolis or spend time at Lindos’s beach.

Monday, September 14:  Agios Nikolaos, Crete

GOLF: Often recognized as the premier course in Greece, Crete Golf Club is a marvelous creation on this ancient island. The course offers a series of memorable holes and stunning views over mountainous landscape.
TOUR: Explore Knossos, whose reconstructed palace reveals the brilliance of the Minoan civilization.  Reboard Callisto in the quaint town of Agios Nikolaos and sail in the evening. A swim stop in the aquamarine waters of Mirabello Bay is planned before departing for Santorini.

Tuesday, September 15:  Santorini, Greece

TOUR: After a swim at a bay on the island of Ios, arrive in legendary Santorini. Volcanic eruptions
both produced Santorini’s wild beauty and sent the Minoan civilization into irreversible decline.
Take a cable-car ride up to whitewashed Phira town to enjoy its cafes, see reproductions of Minoan frescoes at the Nomikos Exhibition, and visit the Prehistoric History Museum of Thera.
Also visit the traditional town of Oia.

Wednesday, September 16:  Kalamata

Arrive in Kalamata, a lovely town built between a hill crowned by a medieval castle and the sea.
GOLF: Golfers play the new Robert Trent Jones, Jr.-designed Navarino Bay course, beautifully
situated on the southwest coast of the Peloponnese. The gently rolling terrain features a river, olive trees, and sandy flatlands.

Greece, overlooking ancient and modern Sparta.
