Barnbougle Golf Resort opened its fairways in 2004, so in golfing terms it is still relatively young, however, what Barnbougle lacks in age it makes more than up for in its windswept beauty and international plaudits. With rolling fairways set amongst the wild and dramatic sand dunes it looks as though it the courses could have been formed back in the days of Old Tom Morris, but this is just a glowing testament to the designers of these courses have achieved with the canvas they were given.

Barnbougle Dunes was designed by renowned modern golf architect Tom Doak (Cape Kidnappers, Tara Iti & Pacific Dunes) and Australia ex-European tour pro and course designer Mike Clayton and its sister course, Lost Farm, which is equally as beautiful and challenging opened in 2010 after being designed by Bill Coore.

However, the story doesn’t stop there and Barnbougle is still evolving and re-confirming its place as one of Australia’s finest golf resorts, with the opening of Bougle Run in 2021. Acclaimed golf course architects Bill Coore, added to his work on Lost Farm with Bougle Run, a 14-hole short course made up of 12 par-3’s and two par 4’s. The layout takes in some of the highest points of the Barnbougle Golf Resort providing stunning aerial-like views over the Lost Farm Course and Anderson’s Bay and is the perfect option for those of you with only 90 minutes to spare before your flight home.
