Aside from the culture, climate, food, scenery, people and golf, the thing that appeals to Australians the most about Indonesia is its relatively close proximity! Around 6-7 hours from Sydney or a 3-hour hop from Perth takes you to an entirely different world compared to the one we live in, but one thing is consistent, the excellent golf.

Indonesia weather

Indonesia has an even climate year-round. Instead of four seasons, Indonesia has two – wet and dry – and there are no extremes of winter and summer. The wet season is between October and April (low season), and the dry season between May and September (high season).

Rain tends to come in sudden tropical downpours, but in the wet season it can also rain nonstop for days.

Indonesian Golf Holidays

Golf Explorer currently offer two packages to Indonesia, both of which are excellent value for money for the quality of golf you receive.

Bintan Island Golf Tour Package

This 5-night deluxe golf package at Bintan Lagoon Resort includes 4 rounds of golf, return airport to ferry terminal tickets and round-trip ferry tickets from Singapore to Bintan Island. The golf courses here are world class and all located in stunning locations with exceptional ocean views and verdant greenery.

Jack Nicklaus Sea View Course – Another gem from Jack Nicklaus, this course is exceptional. Set in a natural landscape with some challenging bunkers and water hazards this course is superb for anyone who wants to improve their game or pit their wits against one of Asia’s leading golf courses.

Ian Baker-Finch Woodlands Course – This course presents a series of challenges to the golfer by way of steep undulations throughout. With the front nine holes starting from the resort and the back nine leading you back to the clubhouse this well-designed course will challenge you and invigorate you in equal measure.

Ria Bintan Ocean (2 Rounds) – This Gary Player designed course opened in 1998 and has received some serious accolades in this time including an official ranking in the Top 100 Golf Courses published by Golf Digest Magazine and numerous Golf Monthly awards. The team at Golf Explorer think this course is one of the best in Asia, and we’re sure you’ll agree as well.

Bali Nusa Dua Golf Package

This 6-night package takes you to the magical island of Bali. Steeped in an ancient Hindu culture this island has been popular for tourists and expats since the inception of air travel. Your accommodation at the Ayodya Resort Bali is designed to resemble a Balinese Water Palace and provides the perfect base to relax and rejuvenate when you finally get off the golf course. The 2 golf courses included in this package are said to be amongst the best in Asia and the team at Golf Explorer tend to agree.

New Kuta Golf Club (2 Rounds) – Situated in close proximity to the stunning expanse of water that is the Indian Ocean, you will enjoy the views as much as you enjoy the golf. If there was ever a definition of ‘golf in paradise’ this course would be it. Spectacular.

Nirwana Bali Golf Club (2 Rounds) – This Greg Norman designed course has to be seen to be believed. Winning the ‘Best Course in Asia’ for 4 years in a row, this course offers challenging golf in a picture post card location. Complete with streams, ponds and the quintessential Balinese rice terraces, this course is truly magical.
